Call Audio — Distortion or Background Noise
If the person on the other end of a call hears distortion, squealing, or background noise, it is usually caused by the phone's Noise Reduction feature, which is on by default. Turning it off typically clears up the background noise.
- From the idle screen, press the Center soft key to open the Menu.
- Go to Settings & tools > Settings > Call settings.
- Select Noise reduction.
- Select Off and press the Center soft key [Set] to confirm.
Steps verified against the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme+ E4811 user manual (Call Settings → Noise reduction, p. 30).
